New Vicar joins St. Thomas’ Church, Crosscrake
A special ceremony took place at St. Thomas’ Church, Crosscrake on Sunday 28th July 2019 when our new Vicar, Reverend Canon Mat Ineson, was officially licenced and installed.
The ceremony was conducted by The Right Reverend James Newcome, Bishop of Carlisle and the installation by The Reverend Anne Pettifor, Rural Dean of Kendal.
The ceremony was attended by a large congregation and featured a special Introit sung by the choir of St. Thomas’ – ‘Lead Me Lord’; Hymns including ‘Christ Triumphant’, ‘We have a Gospel to Proclaim’, ‘Father, Lord of all Creation’ and ‘Lord, for the Years’ and a Solo performance of ‘Give to my eyes, Lord’, beautifully sung by soprano Rachel Little, accompanied by St. Thomas’ organist Mike Critchlow.
In addition to his work as Priest in Charge of St. Thomas’, Mat will also be working as Mission & Disciple Enabler and assistant Rural Dean of Kendal Deanery.
The church looked resplendent, with beautiful flower arrangements by members of the congregation and the ceremony was followed by celebratory refreshments including delicious cakes, also made by members of the congregation, for all to enjoy.
As you can see from the photos below, the ceremony attracted a large congregation, which helped to make it a wonderful morning.
