The ‘Little’ Summer Garden Party 2021

The summer garden party at Marlene and Ian’s house took place on the 25th July and was a superb occasion, being the first church social event to take place since the start of the pandemic.
The garden party was rescheduled from it’s normal early-july date, due the the government extension of restrictions, however despite a weather forcast that suggested it may be less than clement, the sun shone beautifully and it was a wonderful summer’s day.
The generosity of Crosscrake parishoners also shone through with a fabulous selection of cakes made for the occasion along with a constant supply of tea and even a glass of bubbly if you felt like it. A raffle was held, with some great prizes and there was a bring-and-buy stall too.
Rev. Terry Wilcock led a short service at the end of the afternoon, in which a couple of popular hymns were sung. Rev. Mat Ineson kindly sang for the congregation too and a wonderful time was had by all.
The event raised over £1,000 for church funds. A big thank you to everyone who made the event such a wonderful success and a well-needed return to socialising in-person for the Crosscrake community.
